Parties seek to reform Florida elections

July 31, 2005 @ No Comments

The Libertarian, Democrat, and Green parties, with grudging support from local Republicans, have formed the Election Reform Coalition of Pinellas, in an effort to ensure that votes are counted properly in future elections.

The coalition identified problems including distrust of paperless voting systems, based on fears that the election could easily be hacked, and a lack of cooperation and transparency from election officials. The coalition’s full report is now available.

It’s about time. Hopefully in the future we’ll be able to actually trust that the election went as it should.
