Bits of homeland stupidity

August 11, 2005 @ No Comments

I seem to be doing this almost weekly now. Here’s what will be this week’s roundup of stupid headlines from around the country.

  • Commerce Bank Ballpark in Somerset, N.J., was evacuated Tuesday in the ninth inning of a minor league baseball game because of a suspicious package that turned out to be a child’s lunch.
  • A man in Orlando, Fla., has filed suit against police officer Brad Cline who desecrated the remains of his nine month old daughter by emptying the ashes out on the hood of his police cruiser and wiping them off onto the ground. (Via Hit and Run.)
  • A lab worker in Los Alamos National Laboratories who was contaminated with americium-241 accidentally shipped a radioactive package via FedEx to Pennsylvania. Americium-241 has a half-life of 400 years.
