Arrest warrant issued for Tom DeLay; lawmaker to turn himself in

An arrest warrant has been issued for Rep. Tom DeLay (R-Tex.) in Travis County, Texas.

DeLay was indicted for conspiracy and money laundering in two separate indictments by the Travis County grand jury. DeLay has maintained his innocence.

Dick DeGuerin, DeLay’s defense attorney, said that DeLay would appear and post the $10,000 bond. DeLay’s first court appearance is set for Friday in Austin.
