Pro-war wife of Congressman ejected from State of the Union address

Hm, it seems that if you aren’t a member of Congress, it’s illegal to make political statements inside the Capitol building. Two, count them, two people were thrown out of Tuesday night’s State of the Union address, apparently for trying to do just that. One of them, of course, was Cindy Sheehan, who reportedly tried to unfurl a banner in the House gallery. The other person was the wife of one of the members of Congress.

According to a report recently verified by Homeland Stupidity, Sheehan was arrested and removed from the Capitol prior to the State of the Union address. She was wearing a T-shirt with a political statement, and was arrested after she refused to cover it up, and then tried to unfurl a banner with a political message printed on it.

Now that’s about what we expect out of Sheehan. But the other person ejected from the Capitol on Tuesday night was a complete surprise.

Rep. Bill Young (R-Fla.) protested on the House floor after his wife, Beverly, was ejected from the State of the Union address for wearing a T-shirt which read, “Support the Troops Defending Our Freedom.”

Now, why is it that the only people who can make political statements in the Capitol are the members of Congress and the lobbyists?

Update: Capitol police dropped the charges against Sheehan and apologized for throwing out Sheehan and Beverly Young.

“”Now, why is it that the only people who can make political statements in the Capitol are the members of Congress and the lobbyists?”"

Because they are not part of the ruling elite?

Here’s the difference between the two “protesting” ladies – Sheehan was actually arrested and held for several hours in jail.

Of course! It’s Cindy Sheehan! Don’t you know she’s dangerous and shouldn’t be allowed anywhere near the President? She might throw a cream pie at him or something!

This is typical of the Bush and his “yes-man” administration. They don’t like descent and prefer not to recognize problems or bring anything to the attention of the president for fear of straining his brain, considering how stupid this babbling idiot is.

Uh, the information above is factually incorrect. Sheehan had no banner. That was a misinformation lie spread purposefully by righties once it was obvious Sheehan hadn’t done anything illegal. The lie is an attempt to desperately spin that Sheehan was ‘protesting’ and ‘disruptive’ which would be the only legitimate reason for an arrest on Capital grounds during the State of the Union Address. Since the charges were dropped, it’s obviously fallacious reasoning.

Mark, that information came from the published news reports provided above. If it’s factually incorrect, please provide some sort of basis for your assertion, evidence of its falsehood, etc.
