And I can spell but my keyboarding is out of wack.Hopefully you guys can get a seminar going someday at IPFW's collage campus here in Fort Wayne Indiana and I'll come check it out.You would definitly be able to get alot of people at that event if you announce it starting no less than 3-6 months befor you arrive.I am sure that with the help of some other activists groups in Indiana we could get you a crowd of 1000 plus. But Id hold it on a sunny summer day so space would be unlimited incase the crowed was bigger than expected. You know here in Fort Wayne we have a festival called The Three Rivers Festavile and it happens in June or July for a whole 7 dyas straight,I bet you could get approval from the Mayor to sit up events/fundraisers/rallies on the Allen County Court House lawn or in Fremont Square Park and if you had a legitimate petition to have local police officers to sign or to take home and sign/review you could probably gain about 100+ officials by weeks end.Just a thought.Gotta get to bed and go to work now.Good night n god bless.

I never thought Id here cops talk about ending the war on drugs.I am a felon due to being caught 2 times in my state at the age of 18 and 19 with under 5 grams of pot.Gratefully I didnt have to go to prison like thousnds of others have and still are over a few joints. But having a lable stick to me as the word FELON doues tends to make normal people not want to speak to you.I didnt hurt anyone or rob some one.In fact I was arrested on suspicion of Armed robbery when I got charged with the Feloney.Allthough I was cleard of the 211 I was still charged with the FELONY pot poss. due to having a warrant for violating house arrest for smoking pot.I am honest,go to church, pay taxes,non-violent and even had a dream to serve my country in the Army-but at the time that felony barred me from enlisting.Had weed not been a crime then I would have been in Iraq and making good of my life. After my dream was crushed I turned to heavy drinking since it WAS legal which resulted in me cathing 2 OWI's in less then a year.I could have killed someone by drinking and am thankfull everyday the I got pulled over.I was endangering the public then. But who did I endanger with a little bit of pot on my person?Maybe a stores last bag of Doritos from the munchies but thats it.I diserved to be punished for the OWI's since I could have killed someone but I DID NOT deserve to have my dream yanked out fom underneath me over a few grams(4.5 tobe exact) of marijuana.Hopefully with more police, law enforcement, judges and politicians uniting and protesting youirselves the day that I hope doesnt happen, but if it does, that my 5 year old turns 18 and smokes weed he wont be halled off to prison for smoking, possession or growing/selling marijuana. If he kills someone then he'll deserve whatever he gets but I hope that my son is able to go through that and not fear law enforcement as I do today.Even when I am doing good things I get the chills every time a cop is behind me.And yes,I actually hate feeling that way about police officers because as hard as it may seem to believe me,I have great respect for law enforcement, just not for the poloticians that hide behind lies and corruption.I believe to that if the day ever copmes the marijuana is regulated and/or drugs themselves nolonger carry extensive probation terms and zero jail time the public in general may begin to interact with the police dept. in solving unsolved crimes. But when you aresst people consistantly over petty drug possessions you aint gonna get no help from us solving those crimes(unless it envolves crimes against children) just the smae old"I didnt see a thing officer" while replaying the images of the crime over and over again or the notion of knowing who did the crime.I wish LEAP the greatist of luck and if I offended any of you cops I am sorry,I just had to speak my mind some.I'll be back to visit. Sincerly,Kevin Johnson.
p.s.s. Had I not been arrested for those pot possessions My goal after the Army was to be a SWAT offocer.

The reason why we should legalize drugs can be summed up in four words: Drug prohibition doesn’t work.

Is the contraction “doesn’t” one word or two? I lean towards two.

National Review made this argument ten years ago. Their main statement on the Drug War, written in 1996, is titled, “The War on Drugs is Lost.”

it is our judgment that the war on drugs has failed, that it is diverting intelligent energy away from how to deal with the problem of addiction, that it is wasting our resources, and that it is encouraging civil, judicial, and penal procedures associated with police states.

…

The “war on drugs'’ has failed to accomplish its stated objectives, and it cannot succeed so long as we remain a free society, bound by our Constitution. Our prohibitionist approach to drug control is responsible for most of the ills commonly associated with America’s “drug problem.'’

Hello;

I'm Eddy LaBarr in Montrose, Colorado, with links to our site and a warm human interest story regarding our experiences with the ruthless Drug Enforcement Administration. From 1986 to 1993, after more than 400 incidents of harassment we were forced to purchase Soviet Starlight night vision equipment to identify a group of trespassers who were routinely hanging out around our bedroom windows at night. The mixed, multi-agency group would have loose, normal voice level conversations and commentaries about what my wife and I were doing in bed. This disgusting practice had been ongoing at the rate of 3 - 4 times per week since around 1986 when our law enforcement agencies began accruing massive allotments of thermal Infrared equipment and began training on civilians. We couldn't ever catch them and their illegal activities were causing problems inside our household as our parental attentions came to be diverted towards stopping trespassers instead of just enjoying life and raising kids.

Montrose, Colorado is a little town located on the sparsely populated Western side of this state and had a population of around 7000 at the time of this incident. It has always had a massive over-staffed, over-budgeted police apparatus with relatively nothing to do and a big Drug War agenda. Illegal trespassing and Peeping Tom activities came to be so bad that we actually had to leave the area for several months during the peak of these events.

We returned to our home with our Soviet Starlight unit: http://www.anti-mafia.com/Starlight-Scope.htm , which was a major investment for us and caught the entire group 6 days later as they were routinely trespassing. The first person identified was an investigator with the local Sheriff's department whom we knew along with 8 - 12 others, all wearing flat black suits or dark clothing. We were actually savoring this experience as a long overdue closure of sorts was taking place in our 7 year long trespassing investigation. We were unaware of how dangerous police can be when they are busted in an illegal act.

The morning after our first encounter; July 1st, 1993, 6:00 AM: As the sun was rising I did a 360 sweep with our scope and noticed a group of around 6 persons atop one of our cowsheds; 4 Mexicans wearing loose, baggy white clothes and 2 others with Khaki shirts which had black flaps on the pockets, who were setting up a pyramid shaped pup-tent frame. Then they pitched a tarp over it which looked like the bright side of Tin-Foil and had a distinct UV or black light colored band around it about 2/3 the way up from the bottom. Within a few minutes events were beginning to transpire at a startling rate including sharpshooters sprinting onto the property and one with a pistol who had lined up a two-for-one headshot -my wife and I. I recall the initial scene as I showed my wife exactly what was going on and seeing her keen interest, and then seeing her go into shock in less than a minute. We spent the next 72 hours at split second gunpoint. Being forced to observe this system, our complaints thereafter had the appearance of paranoia or related mental symptoms.

Looking back at the cowshed, their UV pyramid device seemed to have disappeared, literally. Once assembled in sunlight the viewer with unaided eyes can see what's behind the device, yet it is seen as clear as day with the UV filters and light amplification of the starlight scope, along with their personnel. Also, with this system; razor sharp images of their personnel and equipment can be viewed on plate glass windows (not mirrors) -with nothing seen at the sight where the reflection indicates. http://www.anti-mafia.com/D.E.A.-Tech.htm . I'm an electronics engineer and Ham radio operator and knew that when I understood why their ambient images could be viewed on plate glass -and not mirrors, I'd understand their system. That process took about 18 months and we filed our results with the U.S. Attorney General who responded with a one-line form letter. We were followed around by these personnel who subjected us to endless spectacles and were standing on the hoods and roofs of our vehicles filming and harassing us. The theory of how this all works is outlined on our site and we are now out to sell our story to film makers.

We have certified that nothing in our story or on our site is classified nor of any security concerns to the U.S. Govt. It is our belief that this system has been given to all of the NATO governments for usage on their civilians. It almost seems like this was once a Masonic device, but we're not Masons... The level or disinterest and non-concern sort of suggested a cover up and It wasn't until over a decade later that we figured out that the pyramid device we saw had most likely been illegally taken out of at Cheyenne Mountain, a major Air Force facility 200 miles away.

There is a "psychic efficacy associated with this device: http://www.anti-mafia.com/prayer_channel.htm

"If you don't comment, yo're letting the terrorists win." - Simply brilliant. Without it, I probably would have never posted. Thank you for motivating me to become more vocal and supportive of this cause and others.

If I may: "If you don't voice your opinion and become active in your government, you're letting the <strike>politicians</strike> terrorists win."

Freedom of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

My name is Jack Cole. I am a recovering drug-warrior. I have been rational now for 15 years and Law Enforcement Against Prohibition (LEAP) is my support group.

I am the executive director of (LEAP). I am also a retired detective lieutenant--26 years with the New Jersey State Police and 14 in their Narcotic Bureau, mostly undercover. I bear witness to the abject failure of the U.S. war on drugs and to the horrors these prohibitionist policies have produced.

I want to thank Michael Hampton for the comments about LEAP on this web site.

I would recommend that you all view the 12-minute LEAP promo at www.leap.cc. It is quite powerful and full of good talking points. After looking them over please feel free to contact me at any of the below locations with questions or comments. If you think we are on the right track you can join us in this struggle.

Let me tell you a little more about the progress we have made. LEAP is an international nonprofit educational organization created to give voice to law-enforcers who believe the US war on drugs has failed and who wish to support alternative policies that will lower the incidence of death, disease, crime, and addiction, by ultimately ending drug prohibition.

In four years LEAP increased from the five founding police officers to a membership of over 5,000, across the United States and in 65 other countries, which is fitting since U.S. drug policy has ramifications that affect the entire world. All LEAP speakers are former drug-warriors--police, parole, probation and corrections officers, judges, and prosecutors. We even have state prison wardens, FBI and DEA agents that help make up our bureau of more than 120 speakers.

The question exists: how do drug-policy reform groups get voters together to listen to a presentation? We took that question and reversed it. Voters already meet everyday. They meet in civic and community organizations. They attend PTA and school board meetings. They join in discussions based on their political alliance. So, instead of getting them to come to us, we went to the voters. This idea is a proven and effective way to sway public opinion.

LEAP presents to civic, professional, educational, and religious organizations, as well as at public forums but we target civic groups; Chambers of Commerce, Rotaries, Lions and Kiwanis Clubs, etc. The people in these organizations are conservative folks who mostly agree with the drug-warriors that we must continue the war on drugs at any cost. They are also very solid members of their communities; people who belong to civic organizations because they want the best for their locales. Every one of them will be voting in every election. Many are policy-makers and if they are not, they are the people who can pull the coat tails of policy-makers and say, "We have someone you must hear talk about drug policy." We believe the vast majority of these audience members agree with the goals of LEAP by the end of our presentation.

Even more amazing is that we are now attending national and international law-enforcement conventions where we keep track of all those we speak with at our educational exhibit booth; After we talk with them on a one-on-one basis, we find that only 6% want to continue the war on drugs, 14% are undecided, and an astounding 80% agree with LEAP that we must end drug prohibition. The most interesting thing about those who agreed with us is that before LEAP came along only a small number of that 80% realized anyone else in law enforcement felt the same. Officers are so frightened of being labeled "soft on drugs" that are afraid to tell each other their real feelings about the war on drugs.

This also holds true for policymakers. In August 2005 five LEAP speakers staffed an educational booth at the National Conference for State Legislators in Seattle, Washington. We spoke with 450 of the 5,000 attendees on a one-on-one basis and 86% of them agreed that we should legalize drugs--only 4% wanted to continue the war and the other 10% were undecided. This means if we can show these legislators that they won't loose one more vote than they will gain be backing drug policy reform, they will end drug prohibition. They way to do that is to show them LEAP has a huge membership. By 2008 we want to be able to say we have 10,000 members of law enforcement calling for an end to drug prohibition and a MILLION private citizens who agree this is the correct policy.

Please join us and ask your associates to join also. It costs nothing unless you wish to make a donation, there are no meetings to attend, we don't flood your inbox with unwanted messages, we don't share our membership lists with anyone, and each member and each supporter we can count adds to our ability to obtain funding. To join us go to http://leap.cc/cms/index.php?name=Your_Account and fill out the application.

If any of you have any time on your hands you could even offer LEAP some service time where you would be working from your computer without having to leave your home.

We are looking forward to working with you to end the agonies created by the war on drugs and to renew and deepen respect for the honorable profession of policing that has been severely weakened by the role police have been required to play in enforcing drug prohibition laws. Together we can make a better and safer society by serving it in a more efficient and ethical manner.

Peace,
Jack

My name is Jack Cole. I am a recovering drug-warrior. I have been rational now for 15 years and Law Enforcement Against Prohibition (LEAP) is my support group.

I am the executive director of (LEAP). I am also a retired detective lieutenant–26 years with the New Jersey State Police and 14 in their Narcotic Bureau, mostly undercover. I bear witness to the abject failure of the U.S. war on drugs and to the horrors these prohibitionist policies have produced.

I want to thank Michael Hampton for the comments about LEAP on this web site.

I would recommend that you all view the 12-minute LEAP promo at http://www.leap.cc.

All LEAP speakers are former drug-warriors–police, parole, probation and corrections officers, judges, and prosecutors. We even have state prison wardens, FBI and DEA agents that help make up our bureau of more than 120 speakers.
