I was just reading everyones posts and it seems like it's really different for everyone... this process. For example, I would really love to pass this credit check, but 3 years ago I was sacked from my other job and was out of a job for two years until last year. Student Loans didn't get paid, now I'm trying to figure out what to do. Military was supposed to pay my tuition assistance, but someone screwed up somewhere and I just sat there and dealt with it til I lost my job. I'm wondering how close they really look. I also had a vehicle I had to pay for. It was tuition repayment or transportation for looking for a job, so I took the latter.
Sorry for going on, but my situation is simple, but also not so simple.

@Noey - The E-orientation phase means you have to fill out forms online and watch movies about the TSA-TSO career to prepare you for the job. If I remember correctly its also at this stage that they call you to inform you of your start date at the airport.

You should have the local airport TSA office number as you have passed the airport assessment. Just CALL THEM! You are at a point where a phone call is appropriate and there is no need to ask the forum. We won't be able to answer your question.

Ive been at the e oreintation step for a month and a week. I'm applied to the Logan airport in Boston, MA. Does anyone has any information on how long its going to take. Every step I went through took a month process, I'm at the very end and it's taking longer than expected.

I was at the ready pool but did not get a job offer. What do I need to do to get hired? I have a 4 year degree, but it seems to me they (TSA) don't even look at that.... I have called and emailed the help desk at least 20 times but they gave me no useful information. I couldn't even get a phone number at my local airport for further info or to speak to someone there at TSA to advise on future employment. Anyone out there with any information it would be greatly appreciated. My local airport is McCarran in Las Vegas,Nv Thanks

Thanks Dave, TSA help desk said, you can get reinstated at a different airport as well. You can only get reinstated if you worked for TSA more than 3 years or more. You also have to get reinstated within 3 years of resignation. If its over 3 years since resignation you have to apply through usajobs.gov. and start from scratch, and you start over from d band instead of there you left off, say e band. The only thing you get restored back is your sick leave. I hope TSA improves on how they hire and rehire. Seems silly how its ran sometimes.

@Ryan - When I left the TSA I was told by my STSO that you would have to go through the process again, to a certain degree anyways. It was my impression that you go through life changes and stuff happens and thus they must reevaluate you by some means. Therefore you must resubmit an application and I would assume at least do the credit check, airport assessment (a maybe here) and medical exam. I believe your SF86 which you filled out online is still in the system so you would just update that and then see what happens (this of course will save a lot of time). I really can’t answer what will happen for instance will they require you to take the CBT again I don't know. I mean that would be lame if they did but after YOU worked for the TSA ha-ha would you expect anything normal from them. :)

Of course you must apply to a current opening on usajobs.gov as well.

Check out my other postings above from "Dave"

I resigned from TSA as a TSO a year and a half ago (with good standing). Would I be able to get reinstaed at a different airport or would I only be able to get reinsated at the airport I worked for?

You're legally the right age however its anyone's guess as to if you will get hired. Its a bizarre process and you never know until you try. Just keep doing what they tell you and let it happen.
