You say that like it&#039;s a &lt;b&gt;bad&lt;/b&gt; thing, Michael.  But let&#039;s think about that: what if we gave all government employees a month of paid vacation and 230 paid holidays a year?  With Saturdays and Sundays off, that means they would never have to go into the office - &lt;i&gt;and they wouldn&#039;t be bothering the rest of us!&lt;/i&gt;  It wouldn&#039;t cost us anymore than it goes now, and it would keep them out of our hair.  It would make the relationship more honest, too, since it would be clear that they are being paid to leave us alone.
