Brian, do you really think that will happen with a Republican majority in Congress standing behind Bush, and very reluctant to engage in any meaningful oversight?

While I will not argue that the Bush Administration has seriously hampered progress at DHS, Congress to has done or should say done nothing to provide responsible oversight. It is fairly well documented that Bush never wanted the department and only relented to get a concession from Congress, so that lead one to believe Congress needs to step up to the plate and hold Bush accountable.

Yet King George will no doubt see this as the fault of everyone BUT him and his administration â€“ and he’ll probably use this as justification for continued warrantless surveillance…. *sigh*
