Lauren Canario is a hero of the people!
She is a defender of freedom, and will let nothing stand in her way while she fights for the rights of others.
Lauren, who was arrested for protesting the taking by eminent domain, the property of a friend's house, has stood up to her captors and will not relent her position of being right.
Eminent domain has become an ugly abuse of power over the people by the U.S. Government.
In recent months, people have stood up to this illegal use of power.
Whether it be by votes or protest, people everywhere have had enough of the taking of land by eminent domain.
Lauren Canario is at the forefront in this fight against eminent domain, and the right of free speech and protest.
Connecticut Judge Kevin McMahon has kept Lauren in prison since September 22, 2006 because of her peaceful protest.
McMahon must think that Lauren is a threat to the government that wants to keep it's power over the people.
What McMahon and others like him don't realize, is that while Lauren Canario is in jail, there are countless people who are carrying her torch of freedom.
The freedom fighters are growing in numbers, and like Lauren, they will not be stopped!
I love you Lauren, and stand with you in the name of freedom!
As a believer of all those who protest for freedom and the rights of people against the government,
I am,
George Vreeland Hill.

A very moving film. I feel a little sorry for the police offices who are unwitting, although enthusiastic, cogs in a growing fascist machine. The monied interests of the story are simply "witting" cogs, as all they care about is the money, not the power. The NEO-conservative cabal threatening all of us our rights cares only about the power, AND the money to get more power.

There are some who might say this and other recent tramellings of our Constitutional Rights mean the terrorists have already won. Well, the NEO-conservatives don't even care about that. It's not about winning or losing some fight, battle or war. It's about controlling everything for their benefit. They don't care about you, who you vote for, who wins the vote, or who runs what. They just want control.

The only question remaining is, what kind of human being thinks that that is a good way to think? I, for one, don't get it. Thankfully, I guess. Are these vain, soul-less monsters masquerading as human beings? I think that gives them too much credit. It is more likely they weren't breast fed long enough, or got stuffed into their locker too many times, or are the largest bulk purchasers of Enzyte. Maybe that gives them too little credit.

I was a young man during the turmoil of the 60's and 70's, and I was pretty peeved by the shenannigans and deceit of that conservative administration. But, I lived through it, to fight another day, it appears. Today, I truly fear for the sanctity my rights under our Constitution. I can't say I have ever felt like that, but I CAN say "I don't like. Nope. Not one bit" - (By Horse, from The Ren & Stimpy Show.)

Sickening. I hope the developer goes bankrupt and drags the city government down with it.

Thankfully, other communities all over have come to their senses and have realized that there is no reason for this to take place and, if they didn't already have laws in place to prevent it, have put them in place since this time.
