The excelllent folks at Homeland Stupidity have provided a much-needed tool in this effort to identify and corral dissenters. It comes in the form of a badge, in several sizes, which you can proudly display on your blog to identify yourself as one who may disagree with current policy, and who may voice that disagreement from time to time. At tbbs-land, this badge will alternate with the “Don’t Tread on Me” flag that I’ve flown a good long time. I can't believe that it's been almost 3 months since I've lasted posted a comment on this site, and I'm sure you're wondering why it wasn't longer than that as you read this! :)This is a subject that I'm very passionate about, which is why I couldn't stop myself from adding in my own $0.02! I've said it before and I'll say it again (even though I already know this is just going to be a waste of my time!): The rules of Business Management DO NOT APPLY to Information Technology! PERIOD! So, the next time you hear about one of these software-related diasters like this one, you'll know why it happened in the first place! Now then... I know that I need to elaborate on that statement further, so I won't dissapoint anyone (or myself, most likely!)...When the "rules of Business Management" were first written, there was no such thing as "computers"; If your Pen or Pencil "crashed" at 3pm on a Friday, then all you had to do was sharpen it or get a new one. But, if your computer crashed at 3pm on a Friday, then everyone LEAVES early! Even though you could still use the old standby's known as Pen & Paper, nobody does! In this day and age, computers will MAKE OR BREAK a business, no matter what you might think, believe, have been told, have been taught or have prayed to be true! If you think I'm wrong, then you're either going to be or are already just another statistic in the "Failed Businesses" category. So then, if you already know that's true or at least you're curiousity has been peaked, then asked yourself this question:If I already know that technology is key to the survival of my business, I really don't know anything about technology other than the how to turn on my computer and use the programs I need to know how to use to run my business and my Computer Guy is really good with computers because he's fixed my PC at home (you can use your own description instead)... Wait a second... That would mean.... NO FUCKIN' WAY!!!"THAT'S the guy I've entrusted the survival of my business to?!?! The same guy who fixed my 'missing desktop icon' is also responsble for all of my data!?!? Is he actually qualified for that kind of responsibility?!?!"Sorry for the long-winding comment, but I DID say I was a Computer Nerd! If nothing else, you should consider yourself lucky that I stopped at the Business Management side of the issue; the IT side is even longer!Point is this... IT is NOT a toy or something that should be taken for granted in the business world; It's now the necessity to survival, not the luxury it used to be!

Wow! If it was, all of DHS would be in jeopardy.

The risk of being a colossal waste of money is probably not even on the Congressional radar.
