[...] The ability to move undetected is also one of the cornerstones of personal privacy and security of every liberty-loving human being. Chertoff is striking at the foundation of American freedom. And for what? So we can all become sheep, watched over and kept “secure” by our government shepherds. [...]

I just found your blog, following a link from the freestateproject. Maybe I'll see you in NH sometime, as I also signed the first 1000 pledge. It's a great state, no doubt about that, although I'm not sure how long NH can protect us from the insanity. 2008 is also when the RealID act is scheduled to be fully implemented, with all of us RFID tracked as we enter any bank or government establishment - which will doubtless soon include any public road.

The nightmare of _1984_ was a picnic compared to what is surely heading our way. We've got a terrorist in the White House; I think we are cooked.

[...] Socialists and totalitarians are already beginning to invade New Hampshire, especially from Massachusetts, and have already begun working to destroy the state from within. It’s critical that liberty lovers step up now and help beat back this menace. If you signed, please move as soon as possible; there isn’t a moment to lose! I’m proud to say I was an early signer of the First 1000 pledge and I will also be moving to New Hampshire within the next few months. [...]

[...] And that’s the great challenge: How do you preserve liberty and be secure? It certainly isn’t going to be by a cost-benefit analysis. [...]

George W. Bush's fetish

The actions of George W. Bush usually have nothing to do with the U.S. goal, stopping atrocities, or advancing political freedom. Nor does it have anything to do with promoting democracy, or whether that would be in our strategic and economic interests.

Our President, George W. Bush, has a fetish for involving himself in the death process of others. He has an innate, insatiable hunger for this. He made this apparent when he was Governor of Texas.

We all seem to have some sort of fetish that is pacified by demolition derbies, public hangings, football, boxing, etc. Some people have it much stronger than others.

Regardless of the facts forming the basis for U.S. policy and goals, a President with a strong fetish for the death process will always be able to make a rational argument to support decisions that are more likely than not to lead to the deaths of others. Just because something is rational does not mean it is not stupid.

It matters not that President Bush's arguments, upon closer exam, are stupid. Others will go along, or will not challenge him, because they share the same or similar fetish, or they have a financial interest, or they are afraid of being call unpatriaotic.

I suggest that George Buch, Senior, and the now President Bush, Junior, both have a fetish for the death process. The Texas Governor Bush seemed to relish in any involvement with capital punishment, more than any governor I have heard of. Now as President, George Bush is in hog-heaven.

It does not matter what facts are available for President Bush to consider. There will always be enough facts for him to make an endless supply of rational arguments to support his actions that are more likely than not to result in the deaths of others, but certainly not his own.
