Pardon me for being a little curt, but did you read the entire entry?

The city currently assigns officers to each of Lincoln’s high schools, an expense justified by the fact that a high volume of calls originate from these lovely halls of education.

This entry is more about the quote from board member Lillie Larson:

Also, police bring a certain authority to the school that neither teachers or principals have, said board member Lillie Larson.

Why is it that only a police officer has authority? This is a social problem that needs a social answer, not just an increased police force.

In 2004 74% of the police security on campuss stated that within the last year they had to remove weapons from the students. What do you think would have happened if the gaurds were not there?
