You are being trained to accept random, irrational, and intrusive searches and interrogations. There is NO "terrorist" threat, except from the Homelandstupidity Goons.

"Honestly, these guys should hold more concern for the Metro, as they lack a community, and transport far more people than the MARC."

I take this very same train regularly between home and work.

That Wednesday, I did not take the MARC, as I didn't go to work (I took the day off).

This doesn't surprise me, but does concern me.

A few years ago, MARC posted several posters created in the style of the old World War II German propaganda flyers, telling people to be vigilant about your neighbor. These flyers were far more disturbing than the threat they warn against. Fortunately, MARC felt moved to remove them after several complaints from commuters.

Before that, MARC installed several signs warning people not to leave their luggage unattended on the platform. Before placing these signs, policemen stood by the platform to make sure people did not leave their luggage unattended. Prior to all this, people used to use their briefcases or lunch bags as a way to mark their place in line. Now, you may not save a place in line this way.

Ridership on the MARC has increased significantly over recent years, perhaps due to the increase in fuel costs. We have a very large variety of people on the trains, ranging from people of middle eastern origin to the most white bred school marms you could imagine.

Most of us are regulars who know each other. As such, we already had the best security one could imagine; a good observation of the people around us, and a decent community of riders.

Honestly, these guys should hold more concern for the Metro, as they lack a community, and transport far more people than the MARC.
