Comments on: Katrina housing aid extended through 2009 http://www.homelandstupidity.us/2007/05/02/katrina-housing-aid-extended-through-2009/ Protect yourself from government gaffes, bureaucratic blunders and incumbent incompetence Fri, 19 Mar 2010 18:23:37 -0400 http://wordpress.org/?v=2.9.1 hourly 1 By: ellen crowellhttp://www.homelandstupidity.us/2007/05/02/katrina-housing-aid-extended-through-2009/#comment-50157 ellen crowell Mon, 16 Jul 2007 03:23:23 +0000 http://www.homelandstupidity.us/2007/05/02/katrina-housing-aid-extended-through-2009/#comment-50157 being a displaced survivor of katrina, living in tx.we hear little to no info about fema, housing assistance,etc.i received aid through feb.'07,when the program was initially to end.that's why i never reapplied.i knew no better. i am a senior, living on 1 disability check, since my husband died on 05/25/06.i have literally borrowed from peter and paul to pay rent 03--06 of '07. july is still unpaid. a caseworker named patrick, told me they have received my application for rental aid and it is in supervisory review. he also stated that i would be reimbursed $ 4000.00, the money left from the $ 26,000.00 cap per household, so i can pay these persons back. they have been more than patient, not a forte of mine.i know an ext. has been issued through 03/09. so what is the holdup? i also submitted documents from a rehab hosp.outlining injuries sustained, as a direct result of katrina. fema is in receipt of those as well.we were not given any tetanus shots after being in my attic for 2 days after the diaster. i was rescued by a boater checking on his property. there was 1 ft. of water in that attic so can you imagine how high it was in the house? no, you can't!!!!!!!!.i'm in severe pain constantly and now i have a blood disorder. what can you do ?my long term plan is to move back to st.bernard, where my 21 yr.old daughter will reside with me and share expenses. probably in dec. or the 1st. of the year. please reply to this and don't throw in file 13. thanks for your time. being a displaced survivor of katrina, living in tx.we hear
