Quite the rally today. With all these nationalized banks and government alliances, we might be looking at a unified world bank pretty soon. If that was to happen, and they came up with a world currency, they might drag this out for a few more years. It’s likely that they would let us suffer for a year or two first though, just to soften us up and make us more accepting. There might still be a free spirit or two out there that will need to be beaten down.

The Rally in the Dow today was energy stocks that are taking a vote on the bailouts as being inflationary with now the G20 going to try to print their way out of this mess and straight into the other mess-currency collapses.

Do keep your gold and silver, do keep your powder dry and do keep stocked up on food and wood. And be happy that you saw it coming enough to insure you have a much better chance than most at this game.

The times are turbulent, but while they are, you can smile a bit to yourself that you are smart enough to deal with it.

The only reason I could think of for loading 9ft logs was that you needed to get home fast. Takes a lot more time to cut all those little blocks and handle them.
It’s funny when you do something the hard way for years and then you see the way somebody else does it, and you just shake your head at yourself. I’ve been there more than once.

I don’t know anymore what to expect from the markets. There is so much manipulation from governments, big money players and day traders that it doesn’t follow logic of any kind. All I know is that the purpose of the manipulation is to squeeze every last drop of wealth and economic juice out of the free world and it’s people. When that job is done, the markets will be thrown aside for something else.

I don’t know what to expect from gold and silver either. Inflation will make prices go up, but there is so much imaginary money disappearing from the system in the form of lost equity and credit that we could easily see big deflation numbers. Top that off with the fact that currency values are all over the place and should be worthless in some cases……anything could happen. One sure thing is that gold and silver will be worth something and I have some.
I’m not looking to get rich, it’s just comforting to have something relatively indestructible that has some value.

I haven’t bought any metals since the early nineties. I always trust my gut, so when the urge to do something passes, I move on to something else. Back then I was almost in a panic to stock up on the “necessities”. The only thing I worry about is my ammo going bad, but it’s been cool and dry. Should be alright. I still buy a little of whatever, here and there. Won’t pass up a deal but mostly I’ve been in waiting mode for at least ten years.

It is tough to accept that these things are permanent. There will be no going back. We’ve become so accustomed to happy endings or the idea that endings and lives mean something everytime. Even the idea of endings isn’t reality. We’re all screwed up in the head. It’s going to be a tough adjustment.

Just go with the changes and try to stay alive and content.

Went to Ebay to see Silver Bars..10 oz bars. Wanted 4… Spot Price on the exchange is like $10.50, few dealers anywhere have ANY so I figure I’ll try Ebay. Average for a 10 oz bar? Try $17.50 an ounce plus shipping. WOW!

Last month I ordered for North West Territorial Mint and got it Friday, 26 days it took. Tonight I ordered 40 ounces at $13.60 per ounce with a 30 day wait to get it.

Try to get Gold….Harder. I have some 1/5 ounce gold coins I paid $79 for and now they are $300 each which puts it at $1500 an ounce and spot price is under $900.

The nightwatchman is back. Keeping weird hours as the wife just had a shoulder op and I get to be nurse, cook housekeeper and do my wood thing chop chop.

I bought a hydraulic log splitter non-gas, non-powered except by my big foot thinking that if it didn’t rely on gas or electric it would work fine if things got really tough. Before that it was the ax, sledge and wedge.

I dropped some trees, cut them into 16″ hunks and let the hunks lay and I figure I’ll split them THEN move them as you are right, why kill yourself. For years I’ve done stuff like a 25 yr old does. I get sore too.

Am betting the market-Dow will hit around 7,000 near term and then level off and after that reverse more to around the 4,000 range although I have no specific time frame. Could be a few rally days but anything from here on in is a sucker rally that will just clip more wool.

The wood thing and work has always been my thing and I tend to laugh at the young that have no skills much less muscles which again should get interesting soon. Zero survival skills will be interesting. But not my problem either. Guessing Xbox is worth zero very soon. Kids don’t want to know what skill or work is.

The panic is starting to set in and nothing real has happened yet except that folks forgot to move out of the way financially as the train ran them over–all over again, thought 2000 to 2003 might have taught folks a thing or two, but nope.

I like stuff like that. It’s too bad that most people have drifted away from practical things. I guess that’s why we are where we are.

Scared, frustrated, hungry people who aren’t very bright and they’re armed to the teeth. What a wonderful time we are in for. Winter’s coming too. They’re going to be cold on top of everything else.
