CBP officer sues DHS over immigration raid

April 8, 2009 @ Michael Hampton12 Comments

Last July, Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents conducted a raid of a home allegedly looking for a fugitive alien. Instead, they found a Customs and Border Protection officer.

K-9 officer Jim Slaughter, a seven year veteran of CBP who works at the San Luis, Ariz., border crossing, told KSWT-TV that five ICE agents entered his home without a warrant, but immediately backed off when he told them he was a CBP officer.

His wife, Sheila, asks the important questions:

“Here they invaded my home, think of this, my children weren’t home. What if my husband hadn’t of been home? What would they have done to me?” says Sheila. — KSWT-TV

The Slaughters now believe that ICE agents simply had the wrong address, but he is suing the Department of Homeland Security because, he says, ICE refused to apologize or even explain the incident.

Unfortunately I’m afraid the suit, which cites the Fourth Amendment, isn’t likely to go anywhere. Courts have repeatedly ruled that when police raid the wrong house, citizens have no recourse, as long as the police simply made an “honest” mistake. Police being honest? When does that happen? And this bizarre miscarriage of justice is a direct result (you might say unintended consequence) of Richard Nixon’s war on drugs.

The Raid was bogus but, I am tired of the illegal alien cops using eachothers ids to pull off shit like Cartel drug sales, stealing more ids, killing people for thier cars and houses then using thier ids ect.. These illegal alien bastards must be stopped. They rob all of us everyday. We are paying for them one way or another. I am tired of them stealing my mail, belongings and my freedom. We must send them back especially the Mexican Muslims they are the biggest scum bags!!!

Wonder why they didn’t need a warrant.

Commenting on comment 1, I am confused about your statement. I first thought you were talking about the federal agents, but then the “Mexican Muslims” comment threw me a curve ball. So do you mean we should send the immigration cops back to where they cam from or do you mean the actual immigrants should go back? Now is it specifically Muslim practicing Mexicans or any person that might scare you? Although I am sure there are Mexicans that practice Islam, I can not imagine that there are not very many. Maybe your where talking about Mexicans and Muslims separately. I feel as if I can go all day commenting on your ignorance, but I wont. So I am half Puerto Rican (PR), should I go too? Before you answer, remember PR is not a country, but a part of America, you know the country built on Immigration.

It =MUST= be remembered by anyone and everyone who cares, that at ANY time a politician or political group appeals to children for support, or who resorts to establishing such peripheral groups among people too young and inexperienced to make an informed decision, is nought but the worst kind of machinating and deceitful person.

PR is NOT a part of The USA. You are not a US state. You just come here to benefit from all various breaks government is giving you at the expense of average citizens.

PeterCT, You are an idiot. Puerto Rico is a part of the USA. It is an official territory and even has representatives in the government. Stop being such a bigot and educate yourself and learn to think for yourself instead of blindly following whatever idiot is telling you to hate everyone different from you.

DHS lawyers and the ICE stooges that carry out their dirty work are the lowest from of pond scum in the law enforcement food chain. They are at a level somewhere below your average prison guard. They seperate families of citizens and non-citizens alike. Of course, they are just “doing their jobs” but then again so were the obediant servants of the 3rd Reich.

    Frank,
The lowest form of life is not hte DHS lawyer but the lawers that assist the illegal aliens. They will rob the legals as well as those they are helping.

Illegals will pay a lawyer or an “Immigrant” for the right to be legal when they have no path to legal status.

All these illegals should be removed by ICE, CBP, State and local cops, they help the US in no way.

US America for US Citizens and their families (of all colors and ethnic background.

That has to be one of dumbest things I’ve ever heard anyone say.

Sorry, RedOne, but you’ll have to work very hard to justify that statement. Most police officers are not honest. Most people’s problem is that they don’t yet know this. Sure, you can find an honest cop here and there, but they’re a generally very frightened minority.
