These forces hated new ideas, Peace, Revolution and used Violence even against peacefully uprising Hippies/Kids/ Girls and non – violent protest without a second thought.
They actually flat out killed JFK, his brother, MLK, ( could be random everyday normal assassinations though..it happens, doesn’t it ?!) Arrested Leary, Hoffman and so on.

It looks overwhelming forces against people wanting Peace and Freedom..Only chance IMO is a NEW approach and New way of Life, but warmongers somehow live forever to fight Peace Life and Freedom by any means necessary..

Abbie Hoffman was no more a ‘leader’ than I was. He knew how to work media, he had an engaging personality, but we were all walking in the same direction.

We didn’t sit down and work out what replaced Johnson/ Nixon..we didn’t want what was.

We made up our own minds; so not every one used drugs, had random sex, and didn’t bathe often.

You will never see another uprising as that of the 60sd/70s, because you will never understand anarchy; never understand that these were individuals, each with his/her own agenda, her own mind, making his/her own decision.

there’s a good argument to be made that the whole “counterculture” thing was instigated by the CIA to neutralise the antiwar movement by turning active into passive resistance and discrediting it in the eyes of the mainstream which until then was itself beginning to wake up, which would’ve been disastrous to the hawks til they figured out how to push their buttons by waving the “American Values-Hating Hippies(tm)” in their faces and driving them Right again in defensive fear for teir Traditional Lifestyles(tm).

there’s even theories of Hoffman being in on this and i’ve read some great investigative articles to that effect but don’t have any links handy. maybe Antipas Ministries (dotcom), they’re one of my favourite whistle-blowers you just have to wade thru all the Biblical references they quote in the process since their primary purpose is exposing the hypocrisy and evil of the Religious Right and trying to bring them back into the “true”, th Christian fold, but spot-on in his assessment of things, i think. he (Shearer) is an ex Vietnam intel guy (Phoenix, the real black-hats) who grew a conscience and turned activist. surprising he’s still alive frankly. anyway great resource to check out.
