Comment Policy

We welcome comments and discussion on each of our stories. In order to provide the best possible experience for people who participate in discussion, we have a few simple policies with regard to comments.

Personal Information

We ask for you to provide a name, and optionally, an email address with your comment. You may leave these blank and remain anonymous. However, even if you wish to remain anonymous, you should choose some nickname for yourself so that your comments can be distinguished from others. If you provide an email address in the email address field, it will be protected in accordance with our Privacy Policy. You will not receive spam.

Moderation

Sometimes comments are held for moderator approval prior to being posted on the site. This happens when our anti-spam software is unable to determine whether your comment is spam or not. If you provided an email address, then you will see an on-screen notice that your comment was held for approval. However, if you did not, then you will not receive a notice. In either case, you do not need to submit your comment again. Your comment will be approved as soon as possible.

Subscription

If you provide an email address, you may elect to be notified when new comments are posted. Each such email you receive has a link to allow you to unsubscribe at any time.

Links

Links to other Web sites are permitted, with conditions. If you have a personal Web site, you may place the URL for the site in the web site field.

If you wish to provide links to other sites in your comment, you must place them within the HTML <a> tag using whatever context is relevant. For example:

I really enjoy discussing the issues at
<a href="http://www.homelandstupidity.us/">Homeland Stupidity</a>
and I think you will too.

Since this is not a forum, bare links provided without such tag and context will be removed from your comments, without regard to their content, merit or relevance.

Content

Because we encourage discussion, comments will not be removed for content which simply expresses disagreement or controversy. Comments containing content which is threatening, abusive, defamatory or illegal under U.S. law may be edited or removed. To express yourself most effectively, try to avoid personal attacks and instead address issues.

Thanks for participating in discussions here at Homeland Stupidity! We hope you enjoy the discussions you will have here.
