Homeland Stupidity is a user-supported site. We rely on your generous contributions to keep this site running and to continue to bring you the latest in government stupidity and open source software. Yes, that’s a somewhat strange juxtaposition, but so far it seems to work.

At the moment Homeland Stupidity is most in need of direct contributions to pay expenses related to the upkeep of the site. In recent months we’ve grown much faster than expected, resulting in unexpected expenses of, among other things, moving from normal “shared” web hosting to a dedicated server. And while we run advertising which is normally sufficient to cover expenses, it’s temporarily fallen short for this month. If you can help, please do so.

You can make a contribution to Homeland Stupidity here. We’re most in need of these direct, one-time, short-term contributions at this time, so anyone who contributes $25 or more can, if you like, have your name and Web site listed here.

For shared hosting, consider Site5 which has excellent, inexpensive packages and support run by the actual system administrators, not low-level monkeys who don’t know UNIX from eunuchs. Because Site5 uses WordPress internally, you can be sure it’s well supported.

Update: I’ve been hearing some things I don’t think I like about Site5 and customer complaints. I may post more on this later, but in the meantime, consider instead DreamHost. WordPress also works very well on DreamHost.
